- May have fought in the 2nd Somme Offensive in 1918
- Very Good Condition
- There is some paint loss to the background, just to the right of the Officer
- The Paint of the officer himself must have been of a different, Higher quality than the background, as he looks Fine!
- There is one small hole that has been repaired with cloth/canvas tape on the reverse (see photos)
- There are a couple other barely noticeable pin prick holes on the lower right quadrant of the painting
- Painting is signed & dated in Black in the lower right hand corner of the canvas as pictured - Hard to Make Out!
- Portrait is Unframed
- Canvas shows No evidence of ever having been on a different stretcher
- Nails on the Top, Bottom and sides all seem to line up correctly
- Back of Canvas shows good age and nice bleed-through of the oils on the front with a nice outline of the handsome German Officer
- The Canvas ends as they wrap around the stretcher are a little frayed as you might expect from 100 years of display and storage
